Dennis Driscoll enters his second year at Jackson State University as the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Media where he serves as the primary contacts for football, women's basketball, men's and women's tennis, and baseball.
Driscoll oversees public relations and is the primary spokesman for the athletic department. He has developed Jackson State Social Media strategy which has the largest reach in the Southwestern Athletic Conference and surpassed many FBS programs.
Prior to arriving at Jackson State, Dennis served as the Senior Athletic Media Relations Specialist at New Mexico State University. While in Las Cruces he was the primary contact for the men's basketball, women's soccer and women's swimming and diving programs. He promoted the Aggies men’s basketball program on their way to the 2014-15 WAC Tournament Championship and berth in the NCAA tournament.
Dennis also served a stint at University of the Southwest in Hobbs, N.M. As an assistant athletic director, he oversaw sports information, game-day management, marketing and negotiated a radio broadcasting agreement with Fox Sports Hobbs. He also was an adjunct instructor in the school of business and seminary program.
He he worked in the sports information office at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. In that role, Driscoll was the primary contact for volleyball, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's basketball and baseball. He created and executed McM's social media campaign, which saw significant growth in online traffic.
The Arvada, Colo. native got his start in athletic communications at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He provided coverage for volleyball, women's soccer, women's basketball, golf, softball and rodeo.
Prior to his start in sports information, Driscoll was a fixture in media throughout central Nebraska. He served as the sports editor at the Custer County Chief and provided coverage of nine high schools. Driscoll was a sports reporter at the Kearney Hub, a highly-respected daily newspaper in Kearney, Neb. He was the beat writer for the Tri-City Storm (minor league hockey team) and University of Nebraska at Kearney athletics, as well as 25 local high schools.
A 2010 graduate of Wayne State (NE) College, Driscoll earned a bachelor's in mass communication and journalism. In 2013 he earned a master's degree in sport management and recreation through Indiana State University.
Dennis and his wife, Denise, reside in Richland with their three children, Joey, Jeremy and Jay.
