Emily McMillan joined the University of Evansville as Assistant Director of Media Relations in June 2019. Since joining the UE staff, McMillan has been the primary graphic designer for the department while directing most of the social media content on UE's primary athletic account and its individual sports accounts. She works with the entire Aces external athletic staff to promote its sports on social media and in other mediums.

She has worked to give the athletic department a uniform brand across all communications platforms. Outside of her creative work, she has handled media relations efforts for the Aces women's soccer, cross country/track and field, swimming and diving and men's and women's golf programs.

McMillan saw two of her digital publications and graphics recognized by COSIDA for the 2019-20 season. McMillan's design of the men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball digital posters from the fall of 2019 was named the "Best in the Nation". The recognition was for the entire fall series that she designed for the three sports. Her design featuring Purple Aces baseball player David Ellis was named the second-best in the nation in the Infographic Athlete/Award Feature category.

McMillan came to UE after earning her masters in Professional Studies from Missouri State University, while there she served as a Graduate Assistant in the Athletics Communications Department for two years. At MSU, McMillan was the primary contact for men’s soccer, cross country and track & field, while also designing and leading all digital and social media efforts for the Bears.

McMillan spent a year at the Big 12 Conference, serving at the Will Hancock Communications Assistant. While at the Big 12, she was the main contact for cross country, track & field, wrestling, equestrian and tennis. Helped coordinate over 10 major championship and events, including the 2017 Women’s Final Four.

McMillan graduated from Kansas State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Studies. While at K-State, McMillan served as an Athletics Communications Student Assistant for four years. She worked with the Women’s Golf team while also helping with football, basketball and volleyball.
