Letting storytellers tell their stories

90 Days

90 Days

90 days is a perfect goal setting length that I have practiced for a little over a year. In that amount of time, it’s a long enough goal to keep you focused and short enough to be not too overbearing.

Over the past year, we’ve experienced a spike in listenership and support that stems across all of our podcasting platforms. SIDcast now boasts over 37,000 listens in just two years and three months with over 90 hours of content and 105 episodes.

So, how much better can it get? What’s more to come from SIDcast?

Podcasts get complacent. Doing the same thing week in and week out that they have always done for as long as they’ve existed, whenever that may have been. Podcasters have enjoyed the listens and downloads and love that comes from it all but there has to be more than that. Currently, we record, edit, publish, and repeat. This process takes several hours a week to complete in a short amount of time.

We’ve been consistent in our approach, only taking holiday weeks like Thanksgiving and Christmas off with the exception of last December where we had to focus on crushing the last bit of schooling.

With this in mind, we are back and ready for more. Chomping at the bit at every opportunity to become better: better interviews, better guests, better all around quality. These are broad goals that also need to align with our mission: to tell stories of SID’s and bring more awareness to the profession. Here’s where the 90 days comes into play.

Over the course of the next 90 days, Winter-Spring 2019, we have three objectives to complete:
• SIDcast Huddle- A group of SIDs joining the SIDcast team to blog about their work, show of campus and game day in video form, as well as answer prompts from me, David, once a month on our website
• “Our Story”- A campaign where you will hear from other SIDs why telling the SID story is important for others to hear
• Average 1500 listens a month for the next three months

We hope you will continue to join us on this journey as we push forward, further and further into this mission and the adventure that has been SIDcast.

Starting on Monday, January 28- Friday, February 1 our inbox will be open to applications for the SIDcast Huddle program with details to follow on our profiles on both Twitter and Facebook.

We hope that you enjoyed this brief explanation of what’s to come and as always, we will catch you in the next episode.
